Discover the stunning West Coast, taste exquisite wines in the Okanagan, and marvel at the Rocky Mountains on a leisurely tour from Vancouver to Calgary. Tour available from May to October.
Emerald-coloured lakes, remarkable mountain peaks, and endless outdoor adventures are why Banff is one of the top Canadian destinations. You can choose from an abundance of outdoor experiences when you visit in any season. In winter, you can try your hand at ice climbing, skate on a frozen glacial-fed lake, or snowshoe on the peak of a mountain, to name a few! Visit the same lakes and peaks for hiking, biking, kayaking, or rock climbing in summer. It’s impossible not to fall in love with all that Banff has to offer!
Small enough to walk or cycle, yet large enough to have its own transit system, Banff town provides a great home base for your Rocky Mountain adventure. Banff Avenue is the town’s main street and is where you will see the iconic view of Cascade Mountain (pictured beside?). For all your shopping and dining needs, you can wander Banff Avenue and Bear Street. You will find food options ranging from locally-sourced fine dines to classic family-friendly comfort foods. While shopping the many souvenir shops, unique boutiques, outdoor gear outfitters, and art galleries filled with local works, you will find something for everyone. Banff also boasts a large variety of accommodation options like cabins, hotels, campsites, and B&Bs.
As Banff is the perfect home base to explore the natural beauty of the Rockies, you have various destinations nearby, including Lake Louise, Columbia Icefields, lakes, mountain ranges, and numerous ski resorts. The Trans-Canada Highway will take you from Banff through the surrounding mountain ranges to the awe-inspiring Lake Louise. If you branch off to Highway 93, better known as the Icefields Parkway, you will have even more incredible views to take in. The Icefields Parkway is a 232-kilometre stretch that connects Lake Louise with Jasper National Park and is often deemed one of the most scenic drives in the world. You can view the Columbia Icefields along the route, the largest mass of glacial ice in the Canadian Rockies, multiple thundering waterfalls, and many spectacular viewpoints and hikes.
Established in 1885, Banff National Park was Canada’s first National Park and the world’s third National Park.

The incredible turquoise lakes of Banff National Park receive their colouring from rock flour, a natural sediment that comes from the glacial rivers feeding into the lakes. The sediment is from the bedrock erosion from the melting glacial waters that form the rivers. The rock flour suspends in the lake water and reflects the blue and green wavelengths of light. One of the best lakes to see this natural wonder is at Moraine Lake.
