Marmot Basin is a favourite ski and snowboard destination in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, located in the breathtaking Jasper National Park. Marmot Basin, located only 20 minutes from Jasper, offers 914 vertical metres (3,000 feet) of excellent skiing and snowboarding on 696 hectares (1,720 acres) of varied terrain. The mountain is beginner-friendly, with 30 percent green runs, yet can still accommodate those looking for a challenge.
Marmot Basin has a longer season (and better, fluffier snow) than most ski resorts, thanks in part to its high elevation. The mountain, which is usually open from November to May, receives over 450 centimetres of cold Alberta powder each year. If you haven’t yet discovered the beauty of spring skiing at Marmot, you’re missing out.
