  • Day 1: Arrive in Calgary and Travel to Banff

    Welcome to Alberta! Arrive at Calgary’s International airport and board your transfer to the idyllic parkland town of Banff. Check into your hotel and take the rest of the day to explore the many unique shops, eateries and attractions around town. Overnight at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, your luxury mountain home for the next couple nights!
    Enjoy a delicious meal at the award-winning Park Distillery in Banff. Their water originates at six glaciers high in the Rocky Mountains and gains minerality as it travels across rich limestone deposits.

  • Day 2: Explore Banff

    Time to discover one of Canada’s most famous mountain resort towns. Get up early and venture around the legendary mountain town of Banff and check out the shops, boutiques and restaurants and then jump on the local bus service to take a gondola ride to the summit of Banff’s Sulphur Mountain. From a theatre and interpretive centre inside to epic views of six stunning mountain ranges and the sweep of the Bow Valley from the rooftop deck and mountain boardwalk outside.
    If you’re hungry and looking to grab a hearty meal, then we recommend you visit the Saltlik Banff. This classic steakhouse has certified Angus Beef PRIME Steak that is graded the top 2% of all steaks in North America and has a menu that goes beyond that. From succulent seafood to rustic homemade pasta and season-inspired desserts, their team do it all, and they do it all well. Complete your experience with their sommelier-curated wine list and handcrafted cocktails.

    Visit the Cave and Basin National Historic Site of Canada. This is the site of natural thermal mineral springs around which Canada’s first national park (Banff National Park) was established. View the natural hot spring cave which was first explored in 1883 and the exhibits which share its interesting past.

  • Day 3: Icefield Parkway to Jasper

    Depart on your full-day sightseeing transfer to Jasper including a stop at the incredible Columbia Icefield along the famous Icefields Parkway. The huge Columbia Glacier covers nearly 325-km2 and dominates the surrounding landscape. An Ice Explorer ride will take you onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier and is followed up by a walk on the Glacier SkyWalk – a glass-floored platform extending 30m out over the Sunwapta Canyon. Continue on to Jasper and arrive in the late afternoon. Overnight at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
    We recommend visiting the Raven Bistro to indulge in a meal that captures Jasper’s mountain town spirit and casual feel with the freshest and most innovative plates.

    If you are looking for pure Canadiana, then add on a guided evening canoe tour. Fish breaking the surface of the still water, the call of a loon, the sighting of beaver, or perhaps a moose grazing in the water, as you paddle a canoe on a lake at sunset, surrounded by the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

  • Day 4: Jasper Adventure

    Today you will view some of the most interesting and spectacular scenery found anywhere in the world. Declared the “Best Boat Cruise in Canada”, the Maligne Lake Cruise is an experience like no other. You’ll enjoy a panoramic tour across the crystal waters of magical Maligne Lake, fed by the glaciers of Jasper National Park. Glide past the jagged mountain peaks as you cruise to Spirit Island, a world-famous destination only accessible by boat. When you arrive back at your hotel, confirm the shuttle for your departure tomorrow morning.
    Jasper was designated as a Dark Sky Preserve by the Royal Astronomical Society in Canada, due to its limited light pollution that creates ideal conditions for dark sky viewing. Venture outside for a stargazing walk to get lost in the wonders of the universe.

    Embark on an informative evening wildlife tour to seek out the region’s furry original inhabitants. Bear, moose, elk, deer, mountain goats, and big horned sheep are just a sample of the many animals that roam this area.
  • Day 5: Train into British Columbia

    Wake up and get on the hotel shuttle for the rail station and board the Rocky Mountaineer train for a spectacular rail excursion from Jasper to Kamloops, BC (breakfast and lunch included). This unique daylight service allows you to view some of the most spectacular sights in Western Canada. The route departs the Rocky Mountains through the Kicking Horse Pass. By late afternoon, you are in the arid ranch land of interior British Columbia, where you disembark for the night. Upon arrival in Kamloops, enjoy the evening at your leisure. Overnight in Kamloops at the Thompson Hotel.
    If you are looking to stretch your legs from your travel day, visit Riverside Park just around the corner from your hotel. This beautiful green space is wonderful for a stroll or a picnic.

  • Day 6: Welcome to Vancouver

    You will set out on the last leg of your spectacular rail experience today. The Rocky Mountaineer takes you through the “cowboy country” ranchlands and along the rushing torrents of the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. You are now truly in pioneer territory and en route you can listen to the history and legends of the West while enjoying all the comforts of your luxury train. The last stretch takes you through lush farmlands and past historic towns to Vancouver. Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
    Just minutes away from your hotel is Stanley Park, Vancouver’s first and largest urban park. Explore the 400-hectare natural West Coast rainforest and enjoy scenic views of water, mountains, sky, and majestic trees along Stanley Park’s famous Seawall.

  • Day 7: Victoria Excursion

    This full-day trip to Victoria begins with a cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands and includes a visit to the acclaimed Butchart Gardens. Afterwards continue to Victoria for a city sightseeing tour that encompasses Victoria’s stately homes and gardens as well as historic landmarks. You will see the University of Victoria and Beacon Hill Park and pass the Royal British Columbia Museum, Thunderbird Park, the Parliament Buildings and the exclusive homes of the Uplands and Oak Bay. You will return to Vancouver in the early evening.
    If you have time, explore the historic neighborhood of Gastown, located ten minutes northeast of the hotel. Noted for its quaint cobblestone streets, late-Victorian architecture and unique First Nations galleries and souvenir shops. Visit the world’s first Historic Steam Clock, enjoy a hot latte or a cold beer on a sidewalk patio and watch life go by.

  • Day 8: Depart

    Its time to pack up your belongings and check out of your accommodations by 12pm. Don’t forget to search your room for any left-over belongings; its a long way to return to pick up any forgotten items! If you haven’t done so already, be sure to charge your devices, view the road reports and check in online for your flight. Individually transfer to Vancouver International Airport for your departure.
    You never know when and where you are going to be delayed. Be sure to bring a snack, fully charged phone and a good book to keep you preoccupied.

Cancellation Terms

Due to partners policies, at time of bookings up to 46 days prior to arrival: 17% of package cost is non-refundable. 45 to 4 days prior to arrival : 65% of package cost is non-refundable. 3 days or less and no show: 100% of package cost is non-refundable. Changes in train departure dates or routes are considered cancellations. Reduction of the number of passengers on an existing reservation (e.g. a Triple occupancy reduced to a Twin) may result in partial cancellation charges. Name changes is considered a cancellation.
