Banff Sunshine Village offers one of Canada’s longest ski seasons, which runs from mid-November to late-May each year. The average 9 metres (30 feet) of snow, stays light, dry, and soft at 2,200 vertical metres (7,200 feet). Sunshine Village, located only 20 minutes from Banff, is a favourite among skiers from all over! Among the three mountains, there are several terrain options for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. Fun Fact! You can even ski in two provinces – Alberta and British Columbia – on the same run. Sunshine also offers Canada’s only heated chair lift, which is highly recommended for staying toasty between runs on those chilly Alberta days!
Sunshine’s base is at 1658m and the top is 2740m, allowing this massive ski resort Alberta’s longest ski season due to it’s elevation. Expect good skiing here from mid November to late May in most years.
The resort also features Alberta’s only on-hill hotel, the Sunshine Mountain Lodge. If you’re looking to enjoy Banff and it’s abundant night life and restaurants it’s only 15 minutes from Sunshine!
