Tofino’s Long beach is 16 kms in length and is known for its surfing and enormous marine life presence. After you’ve crossed the fine and soft sand, take a dip into the ocean. The water temperature ranges between 7 to 15 degrees Celsius throughout the year.

Featured Attraction: Whale Watching

In spring, around 20,000 Gray whales swim past Tofino’s shores on their annual migration from birthing waters by the Baja Peninsula north to the Bering Strait by Alaska. Some stay in these waters for the summer, giving ample opportunities for viewing until October. Gear up in warm clothes and board a whale watching trip to spend around 2.5 to 3 hours on the open water in search of these massive mammals.
