Let the road be your guide as you anticipate the adventures awaiting in the Crowsnest Pass. Arrive in the wild and stunning Crowsnest Pass, where reality seamlessly blends with fantasy. Step into the intricately designed quarters of your chosen cottage, where details captivate both young and old. Explore hidden passageways, unveil mysteries, and savor the warmth of a cozy fire. The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure, surrounded by the enchanting atmosphere of the Crowsnest Pass.

  • Day 2: Travel To Fernie, BC

Good morning! You’ll enjoy your quaint cottage until check-out at 10am then you’ll continue on your way past the continental divide on the Alberta / BC border towards Fernie. The views along this part of the trip are naturally magnificent, so plan to make some stops along the way. When you arrive in town, grab a bite to eat before your fat biking tour.
In the early afternoon, you’ll pick up your bikes, get familiar with the equipment, and meet your guide to get your own personalized lesson and explore the snowy trails around town. Once you have enjoyed the fresh air and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, make your way to your hotel and settle in for the evening. Be sure to get your gear ready this evening as you’ll want to be up early to make first chairs tomorrow.
Note: The time zone in Fernie, BC falls under Mountain Standard Time, which is the same as in Alberta.
Visit the Guide Hut for any last minute gear that you might need. They also demo premium gear that is meticulously maintained so you have 100% confidence that you are testing the gear and not the tune.

    (additional charge)

Upgrade your Fernie accommodations to include a premium king, junior studio or executive studio room. Studio rooms include a dining area, kitchenette and spectacular mountain views from the small standing balcony.
  • Day 3: Ride Fernie

Today is the day to ride Fernie Alpine Resort and it’s legendary powder! Grab breakfast, load the family’s stuff you’ll need and hit the road early. The trip from the Park Place Lodge to the parking lot at Fernie is about one hot cup of coffee. You have 3,550 vertical feet, over 140 runs and 5 alpine bowls to play in when you arrive. Fernie enjoys an average winter temp of -5c, but check the snow report as weather changes quickly here. Grab a mountain map, and jump on a lift. While heading out for a warm up run, plan to see all 7 chairlifts. Each one has access to some great terrain and every skill level will enjoy the experience. In the late afternoon, a tasty beverage in one of mountainside lounges will seem the perfect end to the day on the slopes. Once back at the hotel, clean yourself up and check out the town of Fernie. There are several great shops, restaurants and bars to visit.
Take advantage of the Family Zone at Fernie Alpine Resort, a hidden gem that caters specifically to families with kids. Nestled away from the main crowds, the Family Zone offers a more relaxed atmosphere for parents and a safe, fun environment for the little ones.

    (additional charge)

Include rentals or lessons with your package. Gearhub Sports offers standard and high performance rentals of skis, snowboards, boots and poles in town, while the Winter Sports School offers lessons for first time skiers and snowboarders, specialty camps, private lessons, groups and a variety of children’s programs.
  • Day 4: Head home

Pack up all of your belongings and check out of your hotel. Take some time, if you haven’t done so already to explore the downtown area and dip into some of the local shops. Then make your way back towards Calgary, while scheduling time to stop and enjoy the view.
Once you’ve wrapped for the day, consider grabbing a snack for the road from one of the local outlets you saw last night. If you’ve got time, stop at Nevados Tapas & Tequila to sample various plates or share the La Familia Tacos with your group as you talk about your time in Fernie.

    (additional charge)

If it’s been a long couple days, consider adding another night in Fernie to explore the town. Or, if you are going towards Calgary, add a night or two in the Banff National Park to relax in the hot spring, view the beautiful mountain range and indulge in the local culinary scene.
