After a refreshing breakfast, start your day with a fascinating tour of MacBride Museum, which offers a comprehensive exploration of natural history, the resilient people of the Yukon, and important historical events and eras of the area. Featuring 40,000 objects, their collection utilizes artwork, preserved artifacts, fossils, and restored settings to share stories of the Indigenous peoples that lived in the Yukon for tens of thousands of years, the experience and impact of the Gold Rush, and the building of modern Yukon. While you’re here, try your luck at a gold panning experience to see what it was like searching for gold. Next, you’ll head down the street to the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre. Filled with evocative and moving artifacts and art pieces by Indigenous creators, the centre celebrates and honours the history and contemporary life of First Nations peoples in the territory. Cultural tours and workshops are available for a deeper appreciation and understanding of the Kwanlin Dun people’s stories, traditions, and ways of life.

Today is a busy one, so be sure to charger your batteries and bring your camera gear. You will visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where you’ll have the opportunity take a self-guided tour to view and photograph wildlife in its natural habitat. Dall sheep, stone sheep, mountain goats, mule deer, wapiti (elk), woodland caribou, wood bison, musk-ox, moose and even lynx can all seen on this tour, usually up close! To cap off a great day, you’ll travel to the nearby Nordic spa and hot springs facility.
