What activities can I choose?

You can choose between a guided Maligne Canyon Icewalk, a guided Wildlife Tour and a day of skiing at Marmot Basin. See the about tabs for details on each. You can select one activity per day for a total of two activities!

When can I go?

Choose any dates between February 1 and April 30, 2021. Midweek or weekend – you decide!

How to book:

Add the selected package to your cart. Make sure you’ve selected the correct occupancy! You will be asked for your travel dates and your roommates once you proceed to the checkout. A Live it Up team member will be in touch after you pay to confirm which activities you would like and provide confirmation details!

Marmot Basin, Edmonton’s favourite ski hill for a reason! It’s close, it’s perfect for every type of rider, and it’s by far the best price performance!

Ranging from sweet cruising green runs making up 30% of the mountain to another 30% of fun ripping blue runs to the final 40% of lip smacking black runs! Marmot Basin has it ALL and then some! Great for first timers to seasoned veterans, riding from a single day to the full on Ski Safari, finally you have a option to suit the need. If you go to Marmot Basin and didn’t have a good time, you didn’t do it right and should stay longer!

About Maligne Canyon Icewalk Tour

This is one of Jasper’s most popular and impressive winter adventures. Your tour guide will take you to the bottom of the Maligne Canyon – the deepest accessible canyon in Jasper National Park – where you will explore frozen waterfalls, ice caves, and incredible ice formations. You will learn about Jasper’s Maligne Valley, Karst topography, and the mystery of the “disappearing” Medicine Lake.

There are 2 times per day to choose from for this tour – 9:00am and 1:00pm (based on availability). Tour takes approx. 3.5 hours.

The Maligne Canyon Icewalk Tour is a great option for anyone who does not ski or snowboard or wants to take a day off of skiing or boarding. This tour covers approximately 3.5 kms (2.1 miles) and is mostly downhill. Participants are required to dress appropriately for the weather. Pick-ups and drop-offs available from all Jasper accommodations or you can drive yourself to Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen where your guide would meet you. Shoe size will be required when we follow up as warm boots and ice cleats will be provided.

As per Alberta Health Service recommendations under “Group Physical Activities”, Maligne Canyon Icewalks will be limited to 10 people or less and all cohorts must maintain 2 metre distance at all times. Masks are required on all services and tours.

This excursion is weather dependent and bookings are subject to change.

About Winter Wildlife Discovery Tour

Knowledgeable guides on this tour are trained to seek out all of the park’s most iconic creatures from the safety of a touring van with minimal walking. Big or small, there are lots of animals to see in Jasper! Elk, deer, sheep, goats, coyotes, wolves, and moose are just a sample of Jasper’s wild mountain fauna. Learn all about the ways these animals contribute to the rich diversity of the National Park and how they survive the mountain winters.The guides are well versed in the history, geology, and ecology of Jasper and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

You will travel through the Athabasca Valley and be shown some of the park’s most beautiful scenery, so have your camera ready to capture some amazing photos of the highlights of your visit. This tour is the perfect way to spend a morning and your best opportunity to see the wildlife of Jasper!

This tour departs daily at 9:00am and is approx. 3.5 hours long.  Pick-ups are available from all Jasper hotels.
